Best Shield After Nerf
After the change from all damage reduction to physical damage reduction (along side the change of global reduction), I see most warriors have caught on and opted out of using their single peice of Ascalon for the extra energy of Glads, but the same warriors still use their Victo's/Strongroot/Exalted shields. This seems pointless to me, especially the Exalted, as now it's only a 20% chance of only physical. Wouldn't another mod be more worthwhile. I noticed alot of GvG warriors using Geoffer's Bulwark (or atleast a shield with the same skin). This makes more sense. With +10 vs Piercing, you are tougher against rangers, assassins, and solo ganking is made much easier.
So am I right in thinking that Geoffer's Bulwark and other +10 vs Piercing shields should be the standard PvP warrior's shield from now on?

Dont play so much PVP but i farm alot and you can see difference with geoffer shield in some situations. Aegis is not gd anymore, as soon i can use enhanchmnent or stance i switch to another shield depending on situation.

Switches, my friend. Every warrior should have a Geoffer's on them for rushing Guild Halls.
The +HP on things like Victo/Strongroot is handy, and since I don't think there's double +HP shields, it's a good bonus versus all obstacles.

+10 vs. blunt - seems to be a number of thumpers running around nowadays.
+10 vs. fire - Zealot's Fire, and rushing bodyguards (Incendiary Bonds, Fireball, and probably having to tank a little in Firestorms to finish them off).
Slashing and piercing... meh, odds are you're running a warrior with gladiator's armour. If the enemy is smart, their warriors/rangers/assassins will have an elemental weapon on switch to ignore the +20 vs physical granted by glads. Since the IDS seems to be a popular choice for warrior on warrior action, a +10 vs. cold shield wouldn't be bad choice as well. Not to mention with all of the flashbots throwing around Deep Freezes, Shard Storms, or Ice Spikes. And also, Maelstrom from bodyguards.
Speculation, since I rarely GvG at all.
In PvE... you know the area ahead of time and you usually have two monks keeping you up so you don't need perfect equipment. In the event that you're soloing, you probably want the perfect gear to avoid fewer failures.

Well said, +30-3 or +60-3 are my sheilds of choice.
Plus in PvE in later areas its pretty much a given that you'll have a hex on you most of the time!

GuildWiki says that a shield can have a +4-10 armor vs. a species. Human is listed as a species, so is it possible to have a shield with +10 armor vs. Humans? That would be so awesome, yet somehow I bet you that it's only odd monster-like species (like troll or dwarf).

The reason i still use +30-2 and +30-5(20%) is because finding these other shields with the 30 health mod and +8-10 armor vs XXXX is hard to come buy and to get it at a minimal req 9 is gonna be kinda costly. What i use in place of the +10 to XXXX is a +5 defense grip on some of my weapons when i know imma go under heavy fire IE bodyguards. +5 defense grips are much cheaper to get then a req 9 shield with +30 health and 10 armor to XXXX.

If anything i'd say a 'mod of choice' +10 armour vs cold/fire/lightning attacks shield would be 1 of the best choices. If they exist anymore that is... Ice would be the best 1 for vs Bunny Thumpers as the Ice Breaker is the hammer of choice vs warriors (i've had so many warriors turn tail and run since i bought that hammer its funny.
Just re-read your post and realised you said most of this already but in a different context
